CoolMovies-Double Features

Want a couple of CoolMovies that go great together? Try out a couple of these double features:

The Van and Malibu Beach

Follow the career of Steven Oliver in the role of Dugan in both classic 70's flicks. First he terrorizes Bobby and his bitchin' Straight Arrow van (customized with waterbed, shag carpet, pop-up toaster, AND MORE!!!) in The Van. Then he terrorizes (again) the goofy beachfolk with his muscle bound mayhem in Malibu Beach. So bad, they're incredible. Look out for Danny (how in the hell did I get into this one?) DeVito as the bookie/car wash manager in The Van.

Tom Hanks and John Candy: Splash and Volunteers

Has Tom Hanks done anything funnier than Volunteers? I don't know. But you've got Ivy League snobbery, commies, opium, Gedde Watanabe (Long Duk Dong or The Donger in Sixteen Candles), and John Candy as Tom Tuttle from Tacoma Washington. It's also where Tom Hanks met his wife, Rita Wilson. With Splash, John Candy steals the show as Tom's drinking and womanizing brother. Plus you've got naked Daryl Hannah.

High School Confidential and Rock and Roll High School

Russ Tamblyn (Dr. Jacoby in Twin Peaks), Mamie Van Doren, and guest star rock-and-roller, Jerry Lee Lewis, team up for this classic 50's drug/gang/rock-and-roll B-movie, High School Confidential. It's a hoot and a holler, like no-tomorrow-style! Then, Hey Ho Let's Go to Rock and Roll High School with Riff Randle (self-proclaimed rock-and-roller), the ubiquitous Clint Howard, a giant rat, and The Ramones. Crank it up and bring your Molotov Cocktails!

Special Bonus- joe & andy's Triple Features

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and a bottle of Jim Beam.

Sit back with these two classics and start knocking back the Beam and Cokes. Big Daddy, mendacity, and shit-faced Burton and Taylor all add up to a great evening. If you're looking for an added twist, try going drink for drink with Paul Newman in Cat... or round for round with the gang in Virginia Woolf. The odds are against you. Trust us.

Cannonball Run, Cannonball Run II, and a case of Bud (cans).

Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, and the rest of the cast were drunk through the whole filming, so why shouldn't you be, too? Get yourself a cooler of ice, load in the case and plop it at your feet. Tear open a couple bags of chips and you're good to go.
